Made By Design Ultrasonic oil diffuser review

Jun 23, 2023Jun 23, 2023

After a tiring day at work or school, many turn to aromatherapy for instant stress relief or a way to quickly initiate sleep. Though candles may seem like the obvious option, there’s nothing more irksome than those nagging worries of accidentally burning down your house, leaving you more stressed than you were in the first place. Thankfully, essential oil diffusers allow you to inhale the same soothing fumes while safely drifting off into REM.

While some of the most popular essential oil diffusers — like Vitruvi’s Stone Ceramic model or Alo’s Aura diffuser — hover around $100, Target’s Made By Design version is just $20 and proves that you don’t need to break the bank in exchange for aroma-inducing calm.

Made By Design’s Ultrasonic Oil Diffuser inconspicuously yet effectively delivers ultimate restorative vibes while allowing you to save big.

As a previous candle connoisseur, I was obsessed with the remedial powers of a good scent. I had my little after-school ritual down to a T: come home, change into comfortable clothes, light all my candles and waste away in bed until my internal clock told me I should probably get some homework done. Then I’d repeat the process all over again before bedtime.

Once I moved into my new apartment, a few downsides to this stress-relieving regimen I created for myself became apparent. For one, I was burning through these candles almost every other day, so replenishing my stock became both tiresome and expensive. The candle smoke also kept setting off my apartment’s smoke alarms, which drove my roommates crazy. So when I stumbled upon this budget-friendly essential oil diffuser at Target, I decided to give it a try.

Made By Design’s oil diffuser gets an A+ from me not only for its anxiety-reducing benefits but also because of its foolproof simplicity. To use the diffuser, fill the container with water up to the marked ledge inside, dispense a few drops of your favorite essential oil (I recommend lavender or eucalyptus), place the lid on, plug it in and press the power button to transform your room into a tranquil sanctuary.

The diffuser also comes with different settings so that you can unwind in a personalized atmosphere. To complement the calming fragrance, you can choose from two light/mist settings: bright with continuous mist or dim with intermittent mist. And the fun doesn’t end there — you can control the pace at which the light blinks as well. Press the light button once and you’ll receive a slow-paced, rhythmic blink, similar to that of a heartbeat. Press it twice and you’ll be greeted by a staccato flashing if that’s more your speed.

I also am a huge fan of the diffuser’s no-frills, inconspicuous design. I place high value in making sure my room fits a certain aesthetic, so many oil diffusers’ tacky, fake wood embellishments that are currently on the market just would not cut it. Made By Design’s unassuming, cylindrical look perfectly blends in with the muted pastel tones of my room. And with 120 milliliters of water to vaporize in a lengthy four-hour life span, you’ll never catch me in a state of panic while relaxing in bed or even getting work done at my desk.

Overall, Made By Design’s diffuser may be small but saves big. With a multitude of settings to choose from and an infallible design, you can finally embrace aromatherapy in a safe, inexpensive manner.
